Mike Kaplan, CEO Aspen Skiing Company, announced the Limelight Hotel Snowmass, a 4-star facility with a $ 600 million project
The Aspen Skiing Company, a developer in the Aspen area of Colorado, has announced the opening of its new Snowmass hill hotel by Dec. 15, 2018, to design good snow conditions for the 2019 ski season.
At an event with reporters held last Wednesday (17), Mike Kaplan, CEO Aspen Skiing Company, announced the Limelight Hotel Snowmass, a $ 600 million 4-star facility that seeks to provide comfort and good food at the base of without the visitors having to travel.
“What was missing in Snowmass so far was a village base. Snowmass is about 11 miles from Aspen. So most people ski in Snowmass and dine in Aspen. So things were not happening exactly as we would like them to be, “says Kaplan.
According to him, about 12.5% of the company’s revenue comes from Brazilian tourists, who “fell in love” with the region and represent the company’s second largest international market, behind only Australia.
With 99 rooms, Limelight Hotel Snowmass will have direct access to the ski slope and features a lobby lounge with bar and restaurant, conference room, private dining room, whirlpool, games area, and gym. On the hotel’s front, guests can still venture into Colorado’s longest climbing wall, 54 meters. At the village base, more restaurants and shops will be available to meet the needs of visitors.
Alinio Azevedo, COO Hospitality of the Aspen Skiing Company, said the company is “extremely optimistic” about how the region’s snow conditions will be for next season.
“In some of our mountains, we already have almost a meter of snow accumulated at the top. We must open the season on November 26 and close on April 21, and may extend if we have sufficient snow conditions to do so
